Because I love lists, here are five things my family has done for me since I’ve been in CA:
1) Kept me out of Scott’s hair so he can focus on studying for the boards.
2) Showered Mackenzie with love, even though I had conveniently failed to mention that she spits like a geyser. (I didn’t want to run the risk of being un-invited.
)
Mackenzie is as sweet and content as ever, but every time she opens her mouth to coo, yuck ensues. So, I guess you could say Mackenzie has done most of the showering.
I’m hoping starting solids will stem the flow a bit, but until then… we just use towels as burp cloths and roll with it.
3) Informed me that my daughter has a tooth. Um, what? Yeah, thanks for being observant Liz. Because Mackenzie’s mama sure isn’t.
She has a beautiful tooth that has already come through right in the front on the bottom. It’s very cute! (Now that I know it’s there.)
4) Sympathized with me about the unfortunate Delta incident. My brother even blogged about it (and people actually read his blog).
5) Snapped some priceless photos of the wee one:

I *love* this photo of her! You need to blow it up big(x10) and put it on every wall in your house!

Since you’ve been gone, I’ve taken it upon myself (univited, I know) to check in on things next door. Yesterday a bunch of Westborough people were out talking with their kids. I was amazed at Scott’s intense studying. He was walking around the parking lot, neither looking right or left, as he flipped through, what I assume, are flash cards. Later, as I came through the front door I noticed that the zucchini plants out front have been deheaded. Decimated. Destroyed! In my indignation I knocked on your door to see if Scott knew anything about what had happened. He came to the door with a text book in hand (apparently, he is really studying for the boards and it’s not just a gimick to get some time to himself). We commiserated for a bit over the stupid weed wacker, landscaper dude. Scott even got so worked up he used the term “hell”, and he wasn’t using it in the Biblical sense. Overall, when asked, he seemed sad to have his wife and baby gone. How could you not be sad to miss a little girl as cute as that! Anyway, that’s my update. I’ll keep you posted should anything else come up!

@Liz – Yeah my dad takes some good photos!
@Lonica – Wow, now THAT is what a good neighbor is for. Hehe. Thanks for the update and for checking up on Scott. He phoned me and broke the bad zucchini news earlier. Total bummer but maybe they’ll recover? One can hope…

I’m glad you having/had a great time with family!! I’m jealous. Sorry the flight turned out that way. I did that too once — 5 minutes late though. So miserable!!! I’m glad you are proactive and sent a letter. THey need to hear it!
