Can it be? (In which snow is adrift in Columbus)

We were told that winters in Columbus are typically fairly mild. We shouldn’t expect much snow… and freezing temperatures were out of the question.

Well, with the temperature being below zero frequently in the last several weeks… we should have known “much snow” was just around the corner.

I opened up our door at 11am this morning and was greeted by this:

A snowy doorway

I romped my way to the sidewalk and looking back, realized I had made first tracks on our shared walkway:

First tracks

I hopped to the mailbox and mailed our (two) state tax returns, followed my footprints back to our doorstep, and looked down after I was safely (and warmly) inside:
Snowy feet

Being a California girl, I had gone outside with tennis shoes on (no socks) and a t-shirt. ๐Ÿ™‚

My last photo of the snow was taken by just barely cracking our back door open:

Notice how there are actually Snow Drifts in our backyard! Crazy!

To our friends Paul and Anita (who take great pleasure in swiping snow off of flat surfaces): Our garbage can is all yours. ๐Ÿ™‚

UPDATE February 14th: Woah. The snow just keeps falling. We woke up to a pristine front lawn/walkway again this morning. The cars in the parking lot are all stuck… so you might say we’re snowed in!
