So funny I cried

… or was it so sad I laughed?

We returned home from the park tonight and I set the table for everyone, including drinks and all the fixings for tacos.

My plate was loaded with two zucchini corn tacos on corn tortillas, topped with tomatillo salsa and lovingly garnished with lime juice. After making sure everyone else had what they needed to dig in, I sat down on my chair. Tragically (but not without precedence) I misjudged the distance between my big belly and the table.

My belly caught the lip of my plate on the way down, tipping tacos all down the front of me and my chair, and sending the plate rolling into the family room while spraying taco filling all over the carpet. Black beans and corn kernels scattered far and wide and the tomatoes and salsa were already seeping into the carpet by the time my mind registered what had happened.

It was all so sudden and unexpected, I busted up laughing.

And then I went upstairs and cried while I changed into my last clean pair of maternity pants.
